Not paying the salaries of the sanitation workers! A strike of worker's union in Delhi

9 June 2015, Near Karkardooma Metro Station (Delhi)
9 June'15: This picture has been taken near the Karkardooma Metro Station(near Anand Vihar) in East Delhi, where the garbage was piled on the road by the sanitation workers. As alleged, since the last two months they haven't received their salaries. The workers have decided to go on a strike for 10 days and the government is still thinking over, how to get them back to work.

The Delhi Chief Minister has accused the Central Government for not releasing funds that value Rs. 600 crore that is meant for the MCD, that is also the largest civic body in Delhi.

The Central Government and the State Government should cooperate with each other, to run the city in the rightful manner. By not paying the salaries of the sanitation workers, signs only go out that the government isn't considerable of goodness of the sanitation workers.

Having flagged off movements such as the Swacha Bharat Abhiyan, the Central Government should have this matter in the top priorities. Otherwise, this is hypocrisy at its best; by not giving cleanliness the importance that it deserves.

The above picture is also the same place where the Air Quality Levels have been noted as 490 on a scale of 500, which means that the air quality is the most hazardous in the Anand Vihar area of East Delhi.

This form of carelessness can only lead to diseases, so the required authorities should take the situation in control, before it gets too late. Delhi is already been noted as one of the most polluted cities in the world.
